my life's ambitions changed quicker than fads in shoes. To name just a few, I wanted to be a marine biologist, a professional diver--no, a swimmer--no, a nurse, a doctor, a theater teacher, a comparative
literature professor, a editor, an orthopedic surgeon...There are enough now that I can't remember them all. (For those who DO remember, please, won't you add to my list?)
So, when I tell you this new ambition, know that it is under constant reconstruction and is never declared final until ten days after said event happens.
30 day warantee with money-back guarantee minus shipping and handling. Void where prohibited. See participating Carma's for details.
This is the new idea: after I graduate from BYU with my Masters
(Dec 2008), if there are no people or other strings tying me to a particular place, I'm going to move to DC. I'll be near Lake and Elisa, and Ben and Emily (Gold). I'll be in the
nation's capitol with the chance to influence policy on divorce education like I wouldn't get anywhere else. I hear there are two thriving singles wards out there, full of great minds who want to make a difference in the world. I even have an old mission companion who lives not too far from there.Everytime I have been to DC, I have been impressed with the sense of culture, the value of history, art, music...a value of the old things, a weight of significance, a feeling of enduring patriotism. I think I'd really like it.
What do you think? This is your time to pitch in your two cents.
Limited time offer. Must be 4 or older to play. No purchase necessary.
Happy pitching!

Yay, I'm older than 4! I can play! Well, I have to vote "Aye" on DC as that is: a) closer to me, b) I could see you when I visit Lake and Elysa, c)this is a money-back guarantee, right? What would you want to do there, again? I got so excited you were becoming an East-coaster, I can't remember... :)
I know, extreme excitement has the side effect of selective forgetfulness, (also dizziness, fainting, the sensation of flying, etc....)"
I am hoping to be a divorce mediator and get involved in influencing the policy on divorce education (maybe helping to standardize and reform the cirriculum). But who knows really? I get so excited when I think about going that forget why it is that I start to feel a little dizzy... :-)
hooray! the East Coast is soooo fun. Just remember the "cost of living" culture shock :) I have a sis who lives around that area so sense I can't vote for "no, move back to North Texas" I vote AYE. That way I have one more great reason to try to visit.
Love ya!
You know, Shan, I'm glad to give you an excuse for a vacation--you can use this like a monopoly card "Proceed directly to Go, and please collect your $200 whenever you darn well please." Well, it might not say that exactly...
Cool! I just learned about your blog! We vote for DC too. All in favor say "Aye."
AYE!
All opposed say "Nay."
-silence-
The ayes have it in the opinion of the chair. Motion is adopted.
THAT, my friends is how we do things in DC! Pack you bags, cause it looks like it you are moving to Foggy Bottoms.
Laker, I'm so glad to know where you stand on such a thing, because I would surely be a frequent visitor to your apartment!
